New Four/Sculling Boat to be Named After Program Alumna Dana Moffat '15
We are proud to announce the dedication of our newest addition to the fleet, a cutting-edge four/sculling boat named in honor of Dana Moffat, Class of 2015. The official christening ceremony for the "Dana Moffat '15" will take place at a future time and place to be announced separately.
Dana Moffat stands as the most accomplished athlete in our program's history, having excelled at every level of competition from scholastic to collegiate to international rowing. Her remarkable journey began on our very waters, where she demonstrated extraordinary talent and dedication before going on to represent the United States on multiple National teams.
Dana's achievements represent the pinnacle of what our athletes can accomplish with determination and passion for the sport. By naming this boat after her, we hope to inspire current and future generations of rowers to pursue excellence both on and off the water.
Moffat's illustrious career includes multiple podium finishes at the World Rowing Championships, including gold with the United States Women's Eight in 2018. During her collegiate career at the University of California-Berkeley, she contributed to the team's NCAA Championship victory in 2018 and multiple PAC-12 titles. The versatile "Dana Moffat '15" can be utilized for both sweep and sculling events, reflecting Dana's own versatility as an athlete who competed successfully in both disciplines throughout her FM career.
About Dana Moffat
Dana's rowing journey began at our program, where she quickly established herself as an exceptional talent. Her high school career included back-to-back victories at the C.R.A.S.H.-B. World Indoor Rowing Championships in 2012 and 2013, a New York State Championship in the Girls' Varsity Double in 2015, and numerous other achievements.At the University of California-Berkeley, Dana continued her winning ways, culminating in an NCAA Championship in 2018. Her international career has been equally impressive, with multiple medals at the World Rowing Championships and World Cup events.Dana's achievements include:
- Gold medal at the 2018 World Rowing Championships (United States W8+)
- Gold medal at the 2015 World Rowing Junior Championships (United States JW4-)
- Gold medal at the 2018 NCAA Rowing Championships with UC Berkeley
- Multiple PAC-12 Championships with UC Berkeley
- Multiple podium finishes at World Rowing events
